Mind the Gap

Why $31,000 is the Key to Theological Infrastructure in East Africa

“Can a leader guide a nation to the heart of God if they have only ever been taught the surface of the Word?”

We are recruiting 100+ leaders to move beyond basic administration and into the profound depths of Theology. This isn’t just a conference; it’s an awakening. Discover why this mission in Tanzania is the most important classroom in East Africa this year.

In much of the West, we take the “formative years” of leadership for granted. We have seminaries, digital libraries, and established mentorship networks.

But in East Africa, there is a silent, systemic crisis: A total lack of formative training facilities for church leaders and seminarians.

This isn’t just a spiritual gap—it’s a leadership gap. Without formal theological education, thousands of community leaders across Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Malawi are leading without the foundational tools they need to navigate complex communal and spiritual challenges.

The Solution: The Mbeya Intensive The Grace of Knowledge Conference in Mbeya, Tanzania, isn’t just an “event.” For 100+ leaders, it is their only classroom. It is a concentrated, annual effort to provide intensive training in basic theology and church leadership.

I am honored to join Bishop Philip Mahali this November to teach Mystical Theology, but we are facing an infrastructure hurdle that only a collective effort can solve.

The Institutional Ask: $31,000 To move this from a local gathering to a world-class training institute, we are seeking partners to fund:

  • Safety & Logistics: Securing professional hospitality, local transport, and professional catering to prevent the health crises (infections/illness) that have plagued underfunded sessions in the past.

  • Theological Tech: Equipping the venue with audio/visual technologies and digital resources to maximize the reach of our overseas theologians and guest speakers.

  • Operational Excellence: Implementing professional cleaning and facility upkeep to ensure a high-standard environment conducive to intensive study.

Why this matters to your organization: Investment in this conference is an investment in the long-term stability and wisdom of East African leadership. You aren’t just funding a trip; you are building a seminary in a week.
